Remigo and Sabam will cooperate to develop coffee in Pakpak Bharat Regency. We will develop the ecofriendly and sustainable coffee farming and trading system (Ecoscofas) as well as entrepreneurship in coffee business. Can we increase volk welfare by increasing their income with -at the same time- contributing to sustainable ecosystem? Yes, we are sure about it. That's a big challenge, isn't it?
Pakpak Bharat is one of 25 Regencies (Kabupaten, Indonesian) in North Sumatera Province, Indonesia. The most area of Pakpak Bharat Regency is jungle (forest). Almost 99% citizens are farmers, and part of them are organic coffee growers. For the family need on coffee powder, family roast dried bean of coffee. They are experienced and skillful roasters. For family consumption, several of them -but seldom- produced flavored coffee by using aromatic bark (cassia). There are also several entrepreneurs in coffee roasting. The roasted coffee in powder form will be sold in the regency and in the regencies next to Pakpak Bharat and also in Medan, the capital city of North Sumatera Province, Indonesia.
Kind regards,
Dr. Sabam Malau
