Pdt Martin Ahlhaus dan Dr. Kai Hortsmann dari Jerman (In English Language Click German Reverend Martin Ahlhaus and Dr. KaiHortsmann ) Bapak Pdt Martin Ahlhaus dari Evangelical Church of Westphalia Germany dan Bapak Pdt Dr. Kai Hortsmann dari Evangelical Church in the Rhineland Germany berdiskusi dengan saya saya Sabam Malau di Hotel Grand Antares Medan pada Sabtu 5 Oktober 2013. Pada pertemuan tersebut saya menjelaskan tujuan jangka panjang dari pendirian Wirausaha saya Goldenways Coffee untuk meningkatkan taraf hidup petani kopi melalui pembangunan rantai nilai kopi yang produktif dan berwawasan lingkungan.  Mereka berdua menjelaskan program-program lembaga mereka dalam konteks Oikumene dan Tanggung jawab Global.  Kami sependapat bahwa diperlukan suatu cara yang pas untuk memperbaiki tingkat kesejahteraan petani kopi.  Kami juga akan terus mengekplorasi bagaimana bentuk kerjasama yang tepat di masa depan dalam naungan Partnership mereka dengan HKBP.   Semoga berhasil.  

Misi Global HKBP dan UEM Asia   (In English language, click   Global Mission of HKBP and UEM Asia ) Saya Sabam Malau telah mengadakan diskusi dengan United Evangelical Mission (UEM) Asia.   Peserta dari UEM Asia adalah Rev. Rannieh B Mercado (Deputy Executive Secretary of UEM Asia), Melva Mardiana Barus (Officer Joint Programme), dr. Basaria Lumbangaol (HIV/AIDS Counsultant), Yuli Gulo   (Assistant for General & Finance Administration), Ira Sitorus (Assistant for Cashiering, and Travelling), Yanti Sitepu (Publication Assistant ) dan Tony Hasugian (General Services).     Tujuan dari diskusi tersebut adalah untuk mengimplementasikan gagasan Ephorus HKBP (Huria Kristen Batak Protestan) Ompu i Pdt Willem TP Simarmata MA yang telah menyatakan :  “Salam C adalah bahagian dari Global Mission yang sedang kita perkenalkan di HKBP.  HKBP menjadi berkat bagi dunia.  Kita doakan Dr Sabam Malau mewujudkannya”.  Gagasan tersebut ternyata disambut dengan antusias oleh Bu Pdt Sonia

Training of Organic Coffee and Coffee Entrepreneurship  (Dalam Bahasa Indonesia   Pelatihan Kopi Organik dan Kewirausahaan Kopi ) Community Development Department of HKBP lead by Rev Rein Justin Gultom held “Training of Organic Coffee and Coffee Entrepreneurship” attended by 40 coffee farmers from villages Sipitu Huta, Panudmaan and Immanuel Village at Humbang Hasundutan Regency at North Sumatra Province of Indonesia on March 17-18, 2014 at HKBP Immanuel lead by Rev Harris TH Sitorus STh MM.   The trainees were very enthusiastic in doing coffee organic agriculture and decided to establich a Coffee Organic Business.  I,  Sabam Malau, inspired the trainees about Organic Coffee and Coffee Entrepreneurship.  I become their strategic partner.  I gave t the trainess also scissors,  polibags, seed and seeding of Lamtoro PG79 trees.   Scissors will be used to prune and cut unimportant branches of coffee plant.  Lamtoro PG79 is shade trees for coffee, source of organic fertiliz

Coffee Maker at Café Exaudi (Dalam Bhasa Indonesia Penyeduh Kopi di Café Exaudi ) I am Sabam Malau, gave training on brewing technique and quality maintenance of coffee to Coffee Makeror Baristas who work at Coffee Shop (Café) Exaudi HKBP locating at Jalan Hang Tuah 36 Pekanbaru on Sunday 8 December 2013.  Many coffee lovers saw this baristas training. The Café uses Specialty Coffee Aleale (Arabica), Coffee Sirambumas (Robusta) and Luwak DaSola (Arabica) which are produced by Goldenways Coffee that belongs to me.   Let’s drink the most tasty, fragrant, healthiest and fresh coffee at this café.   This training was held by Enterprises Board of HKBP Jalan Hang Tuah 36 Pekanbaru.   All my cost (transportation, accomodation, roasted ground coffee) for this training has been covered by the profit of my coffee selling.   Let me inform you that almost all of profit of my coffee selling has been and will be dedicated to society for coffee developing  acti

Best Coffee Characteristics Training (Dalam Bahasa Indonesia Pelatihan Karakteristik Kopi Terbaik ) The characteristic of tasty, fragrant and healthy coffee was described by me Sabam Malau  to the trainees .  The trainees used the opportunities to compare the fragrance of different roasted coffee grounds.  Training for Credit Union Board was held by Community Development HKBP.  The training took place at Pematangsiantar City, North Sumatra Province, Indonesia. German Reverend Martin Ahlhaus and  Dr. Kai Hortsmann (Dalam Bahasa Indonesia   Pdt  Martin Ahlhaus and  Dr. Kai Hortsmann dari Jerman ) Reverend Martin Ahlhaus from Evangelical Church of Westphalia Germany as well as Mr Reverend Dr. Kai Hortsmann from  Evangelical Church in the Rhineland Germany discussed with me S abam Malau a t Hotel Grand Antares Medan on Saturday 5 October 2013. In the occasion I explain to them the long term goal of the establishment of my enterprise Goldenways Coffee in order to help to increase the welfare of coffee farmers through productive and pro-environmental coffee value chain.  Both of them explained about the programs of their institutions regarding Ecumenical Affairs and Global Responsibility.  We had the same opinion that appropriate ways are needed to make better welfare of coffee farmers.  We will also continue to explore the form of right cooperation in near future under umbrella of their Partnership with HKBP.  Good luck. Ephorus HKBP Ompu i Pdt WTP Simarmata MA sangat peduli dengan kehidupan ekonomi rakyat. Working together with Coffee Farmers In this training session, I (Sabam Malau) inspired the coffee farmers about productive coffee value chain. I will be working closely with them in their village Sipituhuta Pandumaan, Humbang Hasundutan Regency, North Sumatera Province, Indonesia. Training "Credit Union Training and Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Organic" on 4-5 August 2013 in Pematangsiantar.   This training  was held by HKBP Church through the Department of Community Development (Pengmas) HKBP.  Some of the trainess    Rev. WORK PLANS AND REALIZATIONS  RENCANA DAN REALISASI KERJA  * Rekan-rekan yth, kegiatan-kegiatan kami berikutnya yang akan dilaksanakan dalam waktu dekat ini adalah dua on-farm action pada lahan petani-kopi.  Kita berharap bahwa keberhasilannya akan menjadi model bagi dan diikuti oleh petani kopi lainnya. Semua biaya operasional diambil dari profit penjualan kopi saya. (1) Pertama, mengimplementasikan metode N57 untuk melenyapkan Penggerek Buah Kopi (PBKo).  Masalah: persentase serangan PBKo sangat tinggi di Sumatera Utara. Di beberapa areal, PBKo bahkan dapat mengakibatkan penurunan produski hingga 98% artinya dari 100 buah kopi hanya ada 2 buah yang mengandung biji sedangkan 98 buah tidak mengandung biji karena sudah dimakan oleh PBKo. (2) Kedua, melatih petani kopi untuk menghasilkan pupuk organik dari sumber daya tanaman di sekitar ladang kopi petani.
